It’s a happy day here, for my poor deer ravaged hibiscus is well on its way to a full recovery!
In other news, my rhubarb never bolted, even in the heat of this summer, so I was able to pull a fair crop on Saturday, yielding three more bags for the freezer and a quart of sauce. You would not believe how enthusiastically my kids responded when I gave them the sauce at breakfast the next morning!
(Our favorite use for the frozen rhubarb is in mixed fruit pies. Blueberry-cherry-rhubarb is my son’s favorite!)
