Sunshine has been in short supply in the Northeast for most of December, so I was happy early this morning to notice a bright pink glow on the trees at the bottom of my hill, to the north:008Stepping onto the alcove deck at the front of my house, and looking far to my right, I saw this welcome sight:002I enjoy tracking the sun’s path through the year.  Today, barely a week past the solstice, it is nearly as far southeast as it will ever be.  It rose at 7:27 am, and, after cutting a path above the woods on the south side of my backyard, it will set at 4:40 this afternoon.

I wish you all many glorious sunrises in the new year!009
